15-Minute Friendships Online Sessions (Poll!)

Updated: Aug 8, 2023

Howdy, friends! We've been reviewing the feedback we've been getting from our 15-Minute Friendships survey (which we'd love for you to fill out!) and having a think about some of the ways we can make 15-Minute Friendships more accessible for individuals with disabilities and more approachable for those who may not be able to travel to our host venues for various reasons.

15-Minute Friendships Online Sessions (scroll down for poll!)

One of the ideas we had was offering online sessions via voice or video chat apps such as Zoom or Google Meet. These would follow the usual 15-minute format and give attendees the opportunity to enjoy a one-to-one informal chat from the comfort of their own home.

6 individual video chat windows containing people of various genders talking. Some are holding beverages such as champagne or coffee, some have cats or furniture visible in the background. The design is very minimalist with flat colours including white skin tones, white hair, purple hair, and yellow, pink, and purple clothing.

Accessibility is something that is incredibly important to us, and this is something we'd be more than happy to offer if there was interest.

Because 15-Minute Friendships is currently operated by a single volunteer (that's me, Bridie!) there may be some limitations on the time of day that online sessions can be offered. These would likely only be on offer on weekdays during the evenings (GMT/BST) for the foreseeable future.

We've not quite got the finer details locked down yet, as we'd like to gauge interest before we proceed. With that in mind, please feel free to let us know if this is something that would interest you by voting in the poll below (feel free to select all options that apply).

Would you prefer to attend an online 15-Minute Friendships session?

  • 0%Yes, I would for accessibility reasons.

  • 0%Yes, I would for reasons not related to accessibility.

  • 0%No, I would prefer to attend an in-person event.

  • 0%No, due to technological limitations.

You can vote for more than one answer.

We’d Love to Hear from You!

There is never any obligation to discuss topics such as accessibility with us, as we understand it is our job to educate ourselves on this matter rather than asking disabled individuals to perform that labour for us. That being said, we also do not want to discourage individuals from getting in touch or completely remove that option altogether.

Any feedback, comments, or suggestions around the topic of accessibility is always welcome and we'd certainly love to hear from you. You can submit this feedback to us via our feedback form or by emailing You're also welcome to leave comments and questions on this blog post, and we'll do our very best to get back to you ASAP.
